“We have a lot of experience with the Citadel systems and the job went well. It’s a progressive system that’s good and solid. The building is going to be there for a while.”

Alliance Safety Council in Baton Rouge is a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to improving safety in the workplace. Although initially providing services only in Louisiana, members have taken the organization to a broader market through nationwide safety programs.
The new 32,000 sq. ft. headquarters facility serves as many as 7,000 students per month and includes training laboratories, technology-enhanced classrooms and administrative space.
The organization sought to achieve a visually commanding presence on the local interstate corridor while engaging the community through a combination of curvilinear forms, vertical elements and complementing materials. Approximately 10,000 sq. ft. of Envelope 2000® metal composite material (MCM) was installed using Citadel’s RainScreen (RS) attachment method. A strong, contemporary façade was achieved with the Citadel panels interfacing with glass and concrete block.Installation of the Citadel panels was done by Roofing Solutions, Prairieville, LA.
“The greatest challenge was all of the radiuses and of course, lining up the horizontals. But we have a lot of experience with the Citadel systems and the job went well. The RainScreen system carries a good wind load rating. It’s a progressive system that’s good and solid. The building is going to be there for a while.”
Design for the project was provided by Grace & Hebert Architects, Baton Rouge, LA.The Citadel representative was Mid South Specialty Products, Greenwell Springs, LA.
