Where can I purchase your panels?
We have established a nationwide representation and
distribution network
through which we go to market. However, we can
provide product information,
customer support, technical service, and samples
from our manufacturing
facility. To find out who the local
representative or distributor is in your
area, contact us at (800) 446-8828 or
What is the average lead time for your panels?
In general, the lead time for manufacturing is 2-4
weeks for most panel systems.
However, actual lead time will vary depending upon
the size of the order, the
presence of custom colors or special materials, ship
to location, etc...

Can I get smooth aluminum on a plywood panel (i.e.
Panel 15®)?
No. Due to the nature of the manufacturing
process and the thickness
of the aluminum skin, the grain of the plywood will
'read-through' the face skin
causing a poor and unacceptable appearance.
What are the standard sizes available for your
panels?
Most of our panel systems are available in six
standard sizes: 4'x8', 4'x10', 4'x12'
and 5'x8', 5'x10', 5'x12'. Availability of
certain sizes will depend upon the
composition of the panel (i.e. gypsum or plywood may
limit the availability of
larger sizes).
Can your panels be curved?
Yes and No. Only some of the systems we
manufacture can be curved, due to
the composition of the panel. If available,
there are two methods for curving.
Some panels be curved in-the-field to accommodate a
large radius (kerfing
may be required) while other systems require more
the precise and controlled
bending of a factory setup (i.e. column covers,
tight radii).

Do you provide the accessories for your panel
systems?
Yes. We have designed our systems to be
available as a complete package.
We can provide everything that is required (i.e.
fasteners, sealant, adhesive, etc.)
to complete your installation.
What types of fasteners can
be used with your panels?
We recommend that our panels (when mechanical
fasteners are required) to
be fastened to the substrate using screws. The
use of staples is not recommended
as they will eventually 'work free' from the
substrate. Likewise, the use of power
driven nails is not recommended as they can be
overdriven and rust. A complete
listing may be found in the installation guidelines.
What types of sealant may be
used with your panels?
We recommend and provide an approved list of
sealants for use with our systems
which must be strictly adhered to for our warranty
to be valid. The use of other
sealants may require additional steps (i.e. priming)
and might cause system failure.
A complete listing may be found in the installation
guidelines.
Do you provide flashing
material to go along with your panel systems?
No. However, it can be obtained locally from
sheet metal shops.

Can I use my moldings with
your panels (or my panels with your moldings)?
No. We manufacture and warranty a complete
system and all of our components
are designed to be used in conjunction with one
another. The use of other
components with our panels and/or moldings will void
the standard warranty.
Are moldings available for
use with your glazing infill panels (i.e. GlazeGuard®)?
No moldings are available for our glazing panels.
They have been designed to
be placed exclusively into the glazing channel on
setting blocks and sealed
on all four sides. The use of such panels with
a molding system will void the
standard warranty.

Do you have approved fabricators and/or
installers?
While we do not authorize or endorse any particular
installers, our distributor
and representative network can usually refer you to
someone who can perform
the work. For fabrication, we do have a list
of regional fabricators that we
typically send our work to for higher end
requirements.
What if I choose to deviate
from your installation guidelines?
Our recommended installation guidelines are based
upon the proper requirements
for each system. If you choose to install our
systems in a manner other than
those guidelines set forth, you will void the
standard warranty. Contact our
technical staff at (800) 446-8828 or
info@citadelap.com with any special
conditions or requirements.
What types of building substrates are recommended
for your systems?
In general, most of our systems are placed over
a nailable substrate (i.e. plywood).
Some systems may also be placed over a non-nailable
substrate (i.e. DensGlass®).
When using a non-nailable substrate, the panels must
be fastened directly to
the stud framing. Special instructions also
apply when a moisture barrier is
present over the substrate.

Can your panels be used in a
roof application?
No. Our panels are designed to be used as wall
cladding only. However, the
wall system may be used in applications that do not
exceed 25° from vertical
(i.e. mansard roofs).
Can your panels be used in a structural
application?
Yes and No. Our panel systems are to be used
as cladding only. Therefore,
they may not be used in a structural application.
However, there is one
exception. Panel 15® may be considered part of
the structural wall assembly
if a specified fastening schedule and sequence is
utilized. Contact our
technical staff for more information.

What types of paint finishes are available with
your panels?
Depending upon the system selected, we have a wide
range of
finishes available
including polyester and acrylic urethane coatings,
Kynar 500® coatings (solid
tones and metallics), anodized, and porcelain enamel
steel.
Are custom colors available?
Yes. We can provide virtually any color to
match your standard.
Can your panels be painted
in-the-field?
We can provide a primed finish aluminum on most of
our exterior systems.
However, we do not recommend painting our panels on
site, nor do we warranty
any such finish. Small repairs may be
performed using an approved touch-up
paint, but the touch-up should not be used for large
areas.
